In response to my post about Kineret Potato Latkes and that I was still
waiting for a response from Empire I got the following from Barb at
[log in to unmask]:
>I called Empire right from the grocery store on Wednesday and they said >their latkes are not gluten free. It does not seem to have any >ingredients that would be a problem, but they said no to gf. >Manechewitz potato pancake mix is gluten free. Barb

I will ask some questions when Empire finally calls back, I suspect the
problem is a risk of cross contamination since they produce alot of
products that contain gluten (which are definitely seperate from their
deli meats/poultry). Based on various conversations I have had with
employees of Empire they are definitely aware of what is gluten and the
meaning of GF.
