>Well, the parathyroid is part of the endocrine system, and signals the
thyroid. So, thyroid problems can be primary, a thyroid problem, or
secondary, thyroid works find but the glands signaling it are fouled up. In
turn, the parathyroid may be the problem, or the glands signaling it may be
fouled up. this ankle bone connected to the knee bone, knee bone connected
to the thigh bone stuff means that I would want a referral to an
endocrinologist, who specializes in the entire system, or a real good reason
why not.

Did you mean hyper or hypo-thyroidism? Most people talk about hypo or low
thyroid. If so then a
good book is Hypothyroidism: The Unsuspected Illness by Broda Barnes, M.D.

Hyperthyroidism: Is just the opposite and means your metabolism is working
too fast. Racing heartbeat, hot, anxiety, restlessness, insomnia,
weightloss.

Here are a few web sites that might be helpful. I am hypothyroid with
Hashimoto's. There is a good support list available. To subscribe send an

http://www.healthyawareness.com/Candida/index.htm There is a lady called
Polly who is very knowledgeable about all things dealing with thyroid.
Search the archives for her postings, or post a question directly to her in
this forum. She really knows a lot.

This will give you the links info. you require. If you scroll down you will
come across a link to an article on the thyroid and Candida

Because the articles are frame based I could not save them for some reason .

There are three main treatments for hyperthyroidism - drugs (to suppress its
function - these are the safest) and partial removal through surgery or
radioactive iodine. It would seem that if you have severe symptoms, they
will advise treatment. Take the drugs for now and find out all you can. You
can contact me privately for advice - I am still learning. I am beginning to
understand what the thyroid is for and how it is related to emotional
stress. Some doctors are beginning to accept the importance of it as stress
triggered.
