I just thought I would put my 2 cents in on this, but I thought I had
read somewhere that all dapsone does is mask the symptoms and suppress
them, not eliminate them, so it would follow that for those taking it
it is merely covering up the DH, not eliminating the deposits.
Logically speaking, then, if those deposits can't dissapate on their
own (how do they do that anyway?) they are going to continue to be a
problem. Maybe the reason that it is possible to taper off is that
the body is able to get rid of the dh slowly, but say more slowly than
for those off dapsone I don't know.... Just for the record, I have
never used dapsone or anything topical for DH, so I can't give an
informed opinion on taking it, and was told that there was NOTHING
topical that could help.
