Many tea bags are stapled, the ones that are "glued" are actually sealed
with a high pressure and heat. If wheat starch was used to glue the tea
bags it would dissolve in water....

"I don't know about in the US but here in the UK they don't use glue, they
use pressure.  I understand the paper is damped and then pressed under
enormous load round the edge, dried and ejected from the machine that does
the job."

And someone pointed out that this had already been covered and scolded us
all for not checking the archives first....
