Lactaid has been preferred on the list in the past. Dairy Ease couldn't
assure us whether it was GF or not.

Don't know about supplement pills. If you put drops in the milk ahead of
time, the breakdown will be before it even enters the body.
 
Normally it takes place in the small intestine. The lactase enzymes are
produced in the brush border, which is the outer edge of the microvilli,
which are the fuzz around the villi. These would be the last to grow back
after the GF diet is instituted. That is way it can take 1-2 years of a
strict diet before lactose intolerance is overcome.
