Annual Celiac Informational Meeting Saturday, October 6
Montgomery Hall, Johnson County Fairgrounds, Iowa City, Iowa

8:00 - 10:15 Registration -  $15 (first adult), $5 (additional family
members).  Children under 12 - free.  Please pre-register  - Call Betty Bast

Food Fair, Exhibits, Bone Density Screening ($25 - pay then).
9:00 - 10:15 Demonstrations:  Chebe Bread Uses, Pizza Crusts, Pasta
Varieties, Pie Crusts, GF Flours, Bread Machines, Grain Mills.
10:30 - 11:30 Guest speakers leading discussion:  Covering emotions,
concerns, needs.  Parents of Celiac children meet downstairs, adult Celiacs
meet upstairs.  Children's Program to take place in the Extension office

rby).
11:30 - 12:00 Meal preparation
12:00 - 1:00 Noon meal - Roast Beef, Mashed and Baked Potatoes, Gravy, Corn.
 Also extra for the children: GF Hot Dogs, Potato Chips.
1:15 - 2:15  Speaker:  Dr. David Elliott, Director of the Celiac Clinic at
the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics.  "Celiac Sprue in 2001 and
Celiacs and Osteoporosis".
2:15 - 3:15 Bev Clearman, Registered Dietitian from the Celiac Clinic at the
Univ. of Iowa, "What is new for the Celiac Diet?  Bone-healthy GF Foods."

Directions:  From the I-80/I-380 interchange near Iowa City, go south on
highway 218, take the third exit (Airport - Riverside Drive) - it will head
north, the fairgrounds is on the left.
