I asked my son, who is a doctor, specialising in psychiatry about this
subject. He is at present researching Schizophrenia in a London Hospital
and is about to take his final exams for membership of the Royal College.
Thought you might be interested in his initial reaction.

"Got the messages about schizophrenia, one thing puzzles me, -no- 2
things puzzle me:

1 How can you do a strict double blind trial of a diet, especially
in people who are psychotic?

2 Nowhere is the prevalence of schizophrenia almost non existent,
in actual fact the prevalence is remakably similar across most cultures.
Outcome is better in certain 3rd world countries such as
India, - tell me that Indians, Columbians and Nigerians have a low gluten
diet and I will be amazed!

However when my exam is over I will look up the refences and give you my
opinion."

All the best
