Woodman's in Essex MA (off of Rte 1 and 133)  about 20 miles from Salisbury.

they make their fried food with corn flour and whenever we go to Crane's 
Beach in Ipswich or to the beaches in Gloucester or Rockport, we end our day

at Woodmans.  If you go, tell them you need gluten free - they won't look at

you like you're crazy either!  The only thing that isn't gf are the onion 
rings but they cook them in a separate fryer and they are careful with 
serving.  The serving and cooking area is open so you can watch the whole 
process.  We have 2 celiac kids and it's a treat for us to eat out (although

eating out is always risky).

In NH and MA,there are several Outback restaurants - one in Hyannis on the 
Cape.  If you want to stop in Boston, there are several Legal Seafoods 
restaurants and a PF CHangs - they have gf menus.  All have websites.

Try going to www.goodhealthpublishing.com for a list of 59 national/regional
restaurants and their lists of gluten/wheat free items. There's also a
gluten free dining card that can be presented to restaurant personnel to
ease the ordering process.

Hi - The only one I'm sure about is The Outback in Hyannis - about 25
minutes from Nickerson - open for dinner only, and has a gluten-free menu.

The Old Jailhouse Tavern in Orleans has a Cheeseburger with Boursin that
with steamed veggies or a salad with balsamic vinegar and oil is
gluten-free. There's at least one waitress who is very accommodating - and
the menu's wide enough to ask about other choices.  Turn left off onto West
Road off 6A at the traffic light.

Across the street is the Beacon Room - and they'll take care to help you
choose.

At the light is the Hearth n Kettle - and they do fabulous breakfasts -
omelets - and pay attention to what you need.  They do lunch and dinner too
- and the staff will help.

The Yardarm in Orleans will also listen - hamburgers and salad and steamed
veggies again - great steaks, but I think the prime rib is seasoned with
something that affected me, so be careful to ask. I assumed.  On Route 28.

I was told through my celiac group that Woodman's of Essex breads their
seafood in corn meal - not flour. I've been meaning to go down there to try
it. You might want to call to verify this.

Essex isn't too far from Salisbury from what I can tell, and this might be
your big chance to get some authentic New England seafood!

Another hint - in Amesbury there is the Hippie Chick Bakery and they make GF
desserts. They have a couple of things on hand, but you can tell them ahead
of time and they can make a lot of things. Check out their site.

just south of the Salisbury area is Ipswich and Essex.  Essex has 
Woodmans - home of the fried clam.  And their clams and clam chowder 
are gluten-free!  They use cornmeal rather than flour, and do so for 
flavor reasons not GF reasons.  They also dip their clams in 
buttermilk if you can't do dairy (just an FYI).  They also have 
lobster and steamers.

Further up Cape Cod we had good luck in Wellfleet with Moby Dicks.

In Gloucester there's a nice little mexican place called Jalapenos 
that doesn't have a GF menu but was very cooperative.

Legal Seafoods now has a GF menu you might want to check out.  I 
don't think there are any closer than Peabody, but I could be wrong.

We live in Ipswich and tend to go out for lobster & clams (almost 
uniformly safe - they're boiled in plain water) or go south on Rt1 to 
Peabody and Outback.
