GIGŪ KID'S CAMP

GIGŪ sponsors a camp for kids each summer, serving children with Celiac Disease and Dermatitis Herpetiformis. GIGŪ kids are integrated into a multi-activity camp held at Camp Sealth in Western Washington State. Camp Sealth is a Camp Fire USA camp fully accredited with the American Camping Association and has made spots available to GIGŪ kids who need to maintain a gluten-free diet.

A GIGŪ registered dietitian oversees all meal preparation at camp with help from volunteers, and they carefully monitor the children's diet. They also provide support and education about Celiac Disease and Dermatitis Herpetiformis to children, counselors and parents.

Campfires with gluten free s'mores, riding the "Boata" with homemade GF twinkies, picnic lunches, overnight camp-outs and many enviable meals are all part of GIGŪ Kid's Camp!

Camp will be held in two concurrent sessions and campers may attend one or both. The first session is July 31-August 3 and the second is August 4 - 7. Children entering grades 1-12 are eligible. Travel and registration scholarships are granted on a limited basis.

If you would like to sponsor a child or donate to the program please contact GIGŪ. You may also donate your time helping prepare for the camp or helping cook/bake at the camp.

Registration for camp opens January 15th and slots will fill fast!!!! If you attended camp last year you will receive registration information in the mail from Camp Sealth. Otherwise, call GIGŪ at 206-246-6652, email GIGŪ at [log in to unmask] (include GIGŪ Kid's Camp in the subject line) or contact camp directly at http://www.campfire-usa.org/camp/index.htm.
