CELIAC DISEASE
 
(Nontropical Sprue; Gluten Enteropathy; Celiac Sprue)
 
A chronic intestinal malabsorption disorder caused by intolerance to gluten,
characterized by a flat jejunal mucosa with clinical and/or histologic
improvement following withdrawal of dietary gluten.
