Hello. I have the ultimate good fortune of being scheduled for an endoscopy and colonoscopy this wednesday and I was wondering if anyone could let me know what to expect (other than the obvious). I am a little nervious (ok, actually very nervious) and I don't know why. I am hoping that with a little information and some kind words from people who have "lived to tell the tale" I may be able to set my mind at ease.
Also, does anyone know how "out of it" to expect to be. I live in the city on the third floor and I am planning on taking a cab home, but will my wife be able to get me upstairs ok? I guess what i mean to ask is, is it groggy sedation where i will be aware of the procedure and be able to get around or am i going to be out of it during and after for a while?

Any comments are greatly appreciated.
David.
