Willie Burgess here at Purdue directed someone to me
recently. His name is Evan Nisselson and he is part of a group
developing a multimedia project called "24hrs in cyberspace."
The event will start on February 8th in Fiji virtually at dawn
and follow the 8th around the world.

There was a press release with the email. This is the
newest project from Rick Smolan and a company called Against All
Odds. This group has already produced the photo essay "A Day in
the Life of America," as well as two other programs, "Alice to
Ocean" and "Passage to Vietnam."

The group plans to "fan out across the globe to document how
online technology is changing people's lives. 24 Hours in
Cyberspace will put a human face on the digital revolution. And
the results will be instantly visible around the world, through
one of the largest online events ever produced." As
photographers transmit pictures and stories back, those accessing
the event will be able to add their own stories.

OK. That is the hype. The reason Evan wanted to talk to me
was that Willie had explained about the FNSPEC group, and Evan
was wondering if there were some good stories about how people
have been changed through information that FNSPECers have gotten
online and passed on to these people. They are not looking for
interviews with nutrition professionals telling what they do.
They are looking for the individual, maybe their family, maybe
the setting where the change took place (kitchen, supermarket,
garden, !?!?) so that they can interview them and visually
transmit this from wherever it is on the planet back to San
Francisco and then out to the Internet.

So, if you have been able to use information from FNSPEC (or
any other Internet site, although I obviously am pushing FNSPEC!)
with someone(s) who could tell a good story of how that changed
them, drop Evan an email or call him. It would be great if
people from different countries had items for him because it is
the global nature of this that they want to emphasize.

If you do contact Evan, please let the group know as well!
It is always uplifting to know how our efforts are being used!
