I recently was prescribed typhoid vaccine tablets (x3, Vivotif Berna) as part
of a vaccination program for my new life in Asia (just moved from Europe).
I took one tablet and starting about 2 hours later I had horrible stomach
cramps, nausea and after 12 hours felt as if I had a really bad flu. My
doctor told me to stop the course of tablets and I have since recovered. Why
did this happen? Gluten contamination from the tablet coating/constituents?
from the vaccine?? reaction to the vaccine and not gluten? Has anyone else
had this experience?

(The reaction reminded me distinctly of my pre-diagnosis days hence my
comments on gluten comtamination)

I now look forward to the injection form of the vaccine but would really
like to know if my first reaction was to some hidden gluten or to the
vaccine.

Any comments/advice/personal experiences welcome ..
