Dear Listmates,
Thank you for all of your responses to my question about Pampered Chef stones. Here they are:

- 4 of you said to keep stoneware separate for GF food and gluten-containing foods
- 7 of you said that the stoneware is no longer GF since it is "seasoned"; since you can't use soap on them, they can't be trusted to be safe;
- 4 of you said to use parchment paper or foil on the stones that have been used for gluten-containing food before using it for GF food
- 5 of you said you use your stones for both GF and gluten-containing food with no reactions; some of you do scrub them with soap & water and rinse well as well as re-oil them.
- 1 response said that Pampered Chef will replace stones within the 3 yr. warrenty; all you have to do is send back a piece with your receipt and they will replace your stone with a new one.
- 2 of you said to bake stone until very hot to burn the gluten out, reducing it to carbon.
- a few reponses said to bake greasy GF foods on the stones; feed the first few batches to the non-Celiacs and then eventually use it for GF foods only.
- 3 of you said to clean the stones by running them through the dishwasher or even the self-cleaning cycle of the oven.

Since my kids have no reactions to gluten, I will probably give my stones a good scrubbing and use them for GF foods only. We are relatively new to the GF diet. If they begin to have symptoms, I will definitely keep in mind that the stones could be the problem.

Thanks again for your responses and for you patience waiting for my summary.
