I generally take 2,000 mg of vitamin c daily; when feeling
poorly (cold, flu) I slowly increase the dosage to 4 - 5,000
daily over a period of several days. I do not have a reaction to
the C this way. Increasing dosage very quickly does indeed have
a cleaning house effect on me. I would like to suggest that not
all ascorbic acid or vitamin c products are GF. Check with the
manufacturers.

I use the Twinlab vitamin c allergy free capsules with no
adverse affects. (I have no monetary interest in this company.)

Since I have not as yet found a commercial antibiotic that I can
take, I use the herb echinacea both in tea and capsule form when
an antibiotic is indicated, along with the increased vitamin c.
