Well, if you're looking for the definitive answer on this one, you're not
going to find it here! :)

The original poster wrote and said it always works perfectly for her. She
simply substitutes cornstarch for cake flour 1:1. Others wrote and said
that doesn't work, and it tastes disgusting - just use your favorite flour
mixture. One person wrote and said she uses 1:1 tapioca flour. Another
person wrote and said what about using potato starch, like those recipes
for sponge cake.

I think I'll give up on the cake flour and just give my friends and family
members bags of flour mix.
