Hello!

Thanks to everybody who responded to my question about lipsticks. I received
lots of good information. First of all, there is some good information in
the archives that was sent out a couple of months ago.

Four people told me you need to be careful with lipstick because you lick
your lips, therefore you ingest it. My doctor who is a specialist told me
not to worry about lipsticks. Here is another response:

My doctor says that we don't need to worry about lipsticks. He is a celiac
specialist at Columbia Presbyterian in NY so I tend to believe him. I use
whatever I want and have never had a problem. He believes that we have all
gotten a little too crazy with this issue, as well as lotions, shampoos,
toothpaste- unless you have DH, which I do not.

Lipsticks:

Neutrogena, Color me Beautiful, Lazlo, Shaklee (1-800-263-6674), Almay,
Beauticontrol, Revlon's Colorstay Lipcolor, Ultima II Lipsexxxy Lipcolor,
Banana Boat - all varieties.

Also need to watch for Vit. E because it contain wheat germ oil.

Hi - I asked Clinique for a list of their ingredients that are derived
from grains - they sent a list of ingredients categorized by grain - ie
ingredients from wheat, barley, oats, rye, etc. I also inquired about the
source of their colorings & dyes - they said they are gluten-free.
I went to the Cosmetic counter and reviewed their lipsticks & lip pencils
and found one of each with no forbidden ingredients. The sales assoc. were
very helpful & patient.

I looked at their lip conditioners - balm & all about lips - both contained
ingredients derived from wheat.

Thanks for all your help! Happy Holiday's!

Stacey
