I learned from a local doctor, here in Ithaca, NY, that the MDs in the area
have a weekly gathering (breakfast, I think, and a speaker of some sort
Perhaps other cities have medical breakfast gatherings and some in-service
education can take place.

There are also clubs, such as Kiwanis, and  support groups that would welcome
a speaker. A good support group to start with might be diabetics,
IBS/colitis. The possibilities are endless. The only problem might be finding
a person who has the endless time...
