Anyway, my theory is that they do not want to mess with the diet. I am
certain that my sister would have rushed out and gotten tested (she lives
from appointment to appointment, test to test, prescription to
prescription) IF IT WOULD RESULT IN A PRESCRIPTION. People want a quick
answer and an easy cure, they do not want to stop eating bread and
donuts...(and knowing that there are gf alternatives has no appeal
whatsoever - people are basically lazy and do not want to mess with their
regular routine beyond swallowing an extra pill or possibly having a
one-time surgery cure.

No one likes to be strange or odd or different. People still accuse me of
faddish dieting. Makes me want to pull out what hair I have left. I am at
the point where I do not care what they say. I like being well.

I agree with your husband (that people are like dogs: they don't want
anybody messing with the (dog) dish.)

a) fear of the unknown
b) feel we are meddling
c) don't think they really have it (don't believe we really are in a
position to evaluate their health)

I have celiac disease over 25 yrs. My family is ignoring the signs they see
in their children, my grandchildren. It disturbs me greatly to think a lot
of excema would clear up, asthma would not occur and one of my
granddaughters has a lactose intolerance and 2 of them seem to walk around
with brain fog. My family only wants to think that the only symptoms you
can have are the obvious ones, cramps, gas, diarrhea which they don't have.
It is in their genes and I suggested that they start with that test with
Dr. Fine on his website. If the gene is not there, it's fine.

Thank you again for your help!

All the best,
Susan
