I just got off the telephone with a representative of The Spice Hunter,
Inc., San Luis Obispo, CA 93401, USA; 1-800/444-3061. My query was if
any fillers are used with their spices. She responded no, however, they
cannot assure that their spices are gluten-free because they are
processed on the same equipment as various pastas produced by them. The
machinery is thoroughly washed however the company cannot assume that it
is 100% free of gluten. If someone is very sensitive that person might
react negatively. She seemed knowledgeable about celiac sprue and was
polite. These spices are sold at Whole Foods/Fresh Foods in the
Washington, D.C. area. Sad. Sarah in Washington, D.C.
