Last week I was in the hospital three
days. It was arranged that I would meet
with the dietician prior to surgery, it
didn't happen. The Resident did write
an order for gluten free meals.

However, sadly, all the meals I received
were either gluten free or questionable
(meaning labeled "regular meal"). I was
groggy and could have easily eaten what
was served...fortunately, I refused only
to later find out that what I received
was not GF. Three days later I left in
disgust (and starving) because I had
never received any solid food.

Fortunately, my family knows how to cook
for me and Saturday afternoon I was in
dog heaven with yummy food. However, I
think improper nutrition hurt my
postoperative recovery and I've been
wracked with complications. Even though
I gone to great lengths to pre-arrange
gf meals, in the end, I did not receive
them. The moral to my story is: don't
even trust the hospital!
