Someone recently posed the question whether Cold Eeze was safe for
celiacs. We checked with our local pharmacist who recommended a
"generic brand" of zink lozenges which he says he has gotten
favorable responses for from his customers. Windmill Consumer
Products, West Caldwell, NJ 07006, posts in big letters on its label
that it contains no salt, yeast, wheat, milk, artifical colors or
preservatives and our druggist, who we trust explicitly, says it is
safe. Taken at the onset of a cold, either the well-known brand or
the generic will definitely cut the duration of the cold, he says.
This is borne out by the proprietor of our local health food and GF
product store who uses a generic brand as well as swears by it. Good
luck; We have no vested interest in either brand so we are trusting
our pharmacist's and health food store proprietor's objectivity.
