Here are the responses I received regarding Doctors in Cincinnati.
Although no-one could recommend a specialist, there were a couple of
suggestions. After reading all these, I have decided to give Dr. Ionna
another shot. I have an appointment in mid March and will go in armed with
what info I have. At that point, if I don't feel he can help, I will ask
him about a referral. Should he give me one, I will post the name.

To all those who responded, thank you for your help.

Best Regards
Deena from Cincinnati

I live in Cincinnati and was recently diagnosed with Celiac. Although my
doctor is very nice, he is the first to admit that all he knows how to do
is diagnose and isn't much help with treating. Does anyone know of a good
doctor in the Cincinnati area?

My doctor is WONDERFUL... he is very patient and understanding. I
don't know if he can really help much AFTER the diagnosis, but he has been
right by my side with every question I had and fear as well. His name is
Dr. C. Scott Mowery, phone number is513/686-4820.

Saw your post. Don't go to Dr. Michael Safdi! I have heard that Dr.
Gianella from the UC Medical center is one of the leading experts on
Malabsoption problems in the country- but as for celiac disease
expertise...I don't know.

We live in Cincinnati. My Husband was diagnosed in December with Celiac.
Dr Michael Safdi is his gastro doctor and quickly diagnosed this but we
too didn't get alot of help other wise. We have depended mostly on the
internet for our infomation. This has been very helpful.

Why don't you try Cincinnati Children's Hospital. I was 59 when I was
diagnosed and they sent me a lot of info and recipes. I'm sure they can
recommend a DR for you. That was nine years ago.Does' hurt to try !!

I'm about ready to switch Gastro docs myself as I have about the same
complaint about mine as you have about yours. Several people in our group
have suggested Dr. Gianella at U.C. He has the advantage of being the
cousin of one of the biggest Celiac researchers in the country. That's who
I'm going to try.
