Hi everyone!

I received several replies to my post about corned beef.

Two people think that corned beef should be GF as it is only brine (salt
& water) with whole spices. Just check the labels and look for any
ingredients with starch.

One person uses the corned beef sold at Costco with no problems.

Another person suggested looking for kosher corned beef which would have
far less preservatives in it.

One person indicated that Hormel in a can is GF.

Another person indicated that it might be better to make my own. The
directions are to take a clean non-metal container, put enough cool
water in it so that when the meat is put in, it will cover the meat
(don't put the meat in yet), add meat salt ( much coarser than table
salt) until a medium potato or uncooked egg (in the shell) floats. Then
put the meat in the brine and weigh it down so that it is completely
submerged. Let soak 3 to 6 days. Remove from brine and cook.

I was able to get some info from Hy-Vee grocery store that the Boyles
brand that they sell is GF. They contacted the manufacturer before
responding to my question. The number for Boyles is 800-821-3626.

Hope this helps everyone. An early Happy St Patrick's Day to you all!!!
