So---the general consensus was that if alcohol did indeed dissolve gluten and denature the toxic part---we could all drink beer without problems!  Or we could just drink a lot and then eat glutenous foods.  Obviously, the comment was one person's opinion, as there is no published research that has found alcohol to be a gluten 'solvent'.  Obviously, distillation can make gluten derived alcohol's safe for some and are generally considered GF.  I am not copy/pasting responses because they were all basically the same!
