Thanks to all of you who responded to my query about the GF nature of
flax. The general view is that flax acts as a laxative and so I should
reduce my consumption of it (which had been very modest anyway) to avoid
diarrhea. Also, my reaction could an allergy. I had tried flax for its
Omega-3 fatty acids and one person suggested hemp oil instead. I
appreciate all the responses though I still wonder what kind of plant
flax is (hemp, too) and how closely related it is to wheat. In any event
I've remained flax-free and things are back to normal.
