Hi Everyone,

We just returned from a trip to Hawaii and flew on American Airlines for the first time. When we purchased our tickets (thru Oribtz) we ordered special gluten free meals for the trip and then carefully packed lots of snacks as we were sure that something would go wrong.

We also called American Airlines to verify that they had gotten the information about the gluten free meals and then on the day of the flight, verified with the flight attendant that the GF meals were on board.

We were pleasantly surprised to find that a very tasty gluten free meal was supplied on both flights. On the flight over, there was also a gluten free snack box prepared.

There was only one mistake on their part and that was a pre-packaged cinnamon twist that listed high gluten flour as the first ingredient. We didn't take a chance that it might be ok and called the manufacturer upon arrival in Hawaii to check. Sure enough, the source of the flour was wheat. We have since advised American Airlines of the error.

In spite of the error, we were very pleased with the gluten free meals and would definitely fly American again.

Hope this helps,

Barbara in Missouri
