Hello, I am a newbie on this list, but just wanted to comment here. For
years I have had to avoid wheat. Then a year ago discovered Spelt and
Kamut, thinking they were good alternative grains (I'd do anything for a
slice of bread!). I just recently had a series of blood tests done; lo and
behold the ANTI-GLIADIN SIgA came back at 29. Anything over 15 is a
positive antibody test. I didn't even realize that I was having symptoms on
these products until I stopped eating them. The "on creep" of symptoms was
very slow and deceptive. I feel so much better now!

>It was a very interesting comment that the Vita Spelt people reminder her that
>"spelt was wheat and I better not eat it". This is an excellent case of
>"coporate double speak" considering the previous advertising plan that many
>health food stores incorrecting quote when stating that spelt is an excellent
>alternate grain.

I thought so as well. And would never have tried these grains if I had not
received the same misleading information myself.
