Thanks to all who responded to the question of dairy protein
passing through, containing gluten.  The majority consensus
was that the dairy protein does not contain gluten and should
not be an issue, unless leaky gut is involved.  Others suggested
goat's milk, which has a smaller protein, more digestible.

Does anyone know of a pediatric gatroenterologist in the North or
Central Florida area?  I used the practice at the University of Florida
in Gainesville (they only see one or two celiacs per year) only to be
admonished for placing my 16 month old daughter on a "restrictive and
unhealthy gluten free diet."  Her antibodies were negative - I suspect a
false negative as she had been on a strict gluten free diet for 2 months
before the blood work.  The reason she is on gluten free:  I am gluten
intolerant for over 8 years, and my 8 year old daughter is a diagnosed
celiac.  When Jessie started having chronic anemia, losing weight, and
basically responding just as her sister had when she was a toddler, I
placed her on a strict gluten free.  Her anemia is now gone, and she has
gained two pounds.  This seems evidence enough for me, yet her
specialist thinks I am self diagnosing and placing her  "at risk" by
restricting her diet.  Obviously, he doesn't know about the benefits of
whole grains or grain variety in a diet.  I need to find a new doctor,
one who is familiar with celiac/gluten intolerance and can work with me
for my daughter's best health.  Any suggestions would be appreciated, I
can drive as far as Jacksonville, Orlando, or Tampa easily from Gainesville.
