Has anyone else noticed, as I have, two recent public mentions of
our disease?

First, last Sunday during the Colts-Raiders game, one of the
announcers mentioned that Rich Gannon (do I have the name right?) has
become a spokesperson for celiac disease and is very active, inspired by
his daughter who was very sick until being diagnosed. He didn't have
all information correct but was pretty close.

Second, I recently subscribed to the Mayo Clinic Health Letter, and
the October 2000 issue, which just arrived, lists four topics as "coming
in November": the fourth is "Celiac Disease. How to manage gluten
intolerance." Maybe there is some increase in public awareness! Cheers-
