If you have an underactive thyroid, try this rather unconventional method
to give it a boost. Dig out your bottle of iodine and before bedtime, paint
the soles of your feet! Iodine is staining, but if you are deficient in
iodine (one cause of thyroid problems) then your body will quickly absorb
the iodine and it will disappear from your feet (usually overnight, if not
sooner). If your feet remain stained for 3-4 days, then you are not
absorbing it because your body doesn't need it. (That's why you paint the
soles of your feet, so the staining won't show.) Do this every night until
your feet remain stained for 3-4 days, and supposedly this will help
nourish your thyroid.

THIS IS NOT MEDICAL ADVICE, just something I've read about that could
possibly help a few people.
