GIG is pleased with the success of this month-long awareness campaign. Conservatively, it reached over 2 million people in the US and Canada. Participating restaurants are thrilled by the response of their patrons. Diners asked to take the table tents home to people they knew with celiac disease. Others were thankful to know more about this condition. Restaurants are ready to do it again!
Chef to Plate: Celebrating Restaurants Serving Up Gluten-Free Awareness was strictly an awareness campaign - No funds were raised. A program designed to be national went international its first year!
All expenses for this program were incurred by GIG without the use of grants and sponsorship. We are already gearing up for 2010 and hope that all the celiac organizations invited this year will indeed participate next year...This is one way to work together. Don't wait - get involved now.
A report about the 2009 Chef to Plate awareness campaign will be posted on the GIG website in the near future.
