Hello List:

I checked the archives & didn't quite find a complete answer on what sources
of foods can be used to create edible-grade glycerin found in foods (a
sweetener). I understand glycerin can be vegetable based or from coconut
oils. What other sources are used?

I'm inquiring since my child's vitamin drops contain glycerin. When I called
Morton Pharmaceuticals, IL, the technologist stated that sometimes glycerin
can cause adverse reactions to some people, but that it doesn't come from
wheat, etc. He sounded a bit uncertain.

Thanks for any input.
