I live in Minnetonka and do most of my shopping at the Lakewinds co-op. They
have bulk flours and also packaged baking supplies if you are worried about
contamination. They have a lot of pasta varieties and even gf cookies in the
bakery case. Their website is:

There are also some foods available at CUB, Byerly's and Lund's grocery
stores.

I don't have immediate reactions, so I order what I can at restaurants and
hope for the best. There is one place I go to for Italian. It is Sydney's on
HWY 7 just west of 494. They offer several dishes with rice pasta. I never
asked them about contamination, but if you are interested, it might be worth
a phone call. There are several of these places around the cities. Good luck,

Linda, the nicest store is Whole Foods which I estimate is about 8 miles
from the Radisson. Go north on Highway 100, East on Excelsior Blvd
maybe three miles or so. It's on the left in a small shopping center.

                                                        Whole Foods Market
                                                       3060 Excelsior Blvd.
                                                       Minneapolis,MN 55416

Whole Foods has gf flour, some frozen gf (Amy's, Van's etc.) some
cereal, great produce section etc. It's supermarket size, new and very
classy. Have fun.

Another great place is the Wedge Coop but it is quite a bit farther and less
convenient. (Lyndale and Franklin Aves near downtown.)

Sidney's in Minnetonka and in Minneapolis is a restaurant which serves any
of its pasta dishes with wheat-free rice noodles when requested!!! So so so
great to be able to go order pasta... Just make sure that they understand
to cook the rice noodles in a separate pot and not in the big pasta cooker
with the wheat pasta. They are very aware of what is in their food, and
definitely willing to get answers to you. http://www.sidneysrestaurant.com/

Chiang Mai Thai in Calhoun Square is great, too - last time I checked,
they used traditional Thai soy sauce which doesn't have wheat.

For shopping, my favorite co-op is the Wedge (2105 Lyndale Ave S
MINNEAPOLIS MN 55405-3027 (612) 871-3993) - they have a good selection of
gf flours and mixes, and they have gf baked goods, too (baked right there)

- usually a different kind of muffin each day, sometimes zucchini or
banana bread, and usually one or two cakes or cheesecakes. All of their
deli food is labeled as to whether it is gluten-free, dairy-free, wheat-
free, etc, plus has great ingredient lists. HIGHLY recommended.
