I have a first cousin who is increasingly suffering from
rashes/welts/hives  all over her body from an unknown cause.  She is
going to the doctor on Sat.  She will have the 3 blood tests that were
recently posted for CD screening.  Are those appropriate for DH
screening?

I have tried to understand how, when, and where the rash appears.
The extent of the information I have is that she has welts all over her
body.  The rash is more severe in the evenings (I do know that she often
eats bagels for breakfast).  Suspecting that she may have DH since I
have CD,  I would like to suggest to her to try the gluten free diet for 48
hours or so just to see what happens.  I guess she should try the diet
only after visiting the doctor.

I do not know a whole lot about DH.  Could someone please summarize to
me how the rash appears, where, other associated symptoms, etc.?
Also, what types of things she should tell her doctor, other than that she
has a cousin with CD and that she may want to screen for DH?
