Many thanks to all the responses about GF restaurants/hotels in Quebec
and Montreal:

RESTAURANTS
Olio: attached to the Villa Maria hotel, near the Museum of Fine Arts.
Sister of owner (and she works there) is Celiac It's a sandwich and
salad place but they were great about telling me just which of their
offerings I could eat.
Gibby's: (2 people recommended) This is a fantastic famous Steakhouse
in Old Montreal. Again, speak to the manager, but they have been very
accommodating for friends with allergies.(514)282-1837
Casa Pescara: (the wife of the owner is Celiac, and they have GF menu)
6752 Sherbrooke est,Montreal, Que.Tel: 514 253 2658 Fax: 514 253 8098

Aux Vieux Port Restaurant: (2 people recommended) They serve lots of
fish and meat, so it should be a great place to have a GF meal. We also
have tons of Japanese restaurants that can be very helpful!

Le Bifeteck: This is in Quebec, St Foy (12 min drive from Quebec City)
and Montreal. This is a great (reasonable priced) steakhouse that has
actually held Celiac association conferences... so they should be very
up to date with Celiac safety... you may want to just speak to the
manger on theway in.
Keg- more fun (514)871-9093(GF accommodating)
Mezze- Very Trendy area, great Greek food. Just speak to Joe and tell
him your GF requirements (514)281-0275
La Casa du Spaghetti: (I looked this up and it seems to be in the middle
of nowhere, northern Canada) The owner has celiac and they carry GF
pastas, and carry some GF appetizers, entrees, and a couple desserts.
604 Principale, Granby, Quebec, J0E 2N0 Tel: 450 372 3848 Fax: 450 372

Words for the waiter!
"Je Suis tres allergic au Gluten, trouver dedans ble, l'orge, avoine.
Meme si sa touche mon repas, je serais tres malade. Est-ce que vous
pouver suggerer un repas pour moi. Merci"

STORES
Loblaws: (a large chain grocery store) They have a great selection of
Gluten Free, including Glutino breads and bagels. They also have good
pastas, great Dr Schar cookies and crackers and more...
Marie-Nature: nice bakery, deli and GF supermarket (all at once) but it
is outside of the Montreal city centre (about 50 km north of Montreal).
You need a car and a good map of montreal and the vincinity. It is
located on a tiny street in Laval. Marie-Nature, 4640 blv Samson, Laval,
