Hello List Members,

I will be undergoing a biopsy to confirm an original diagnosis of celiac
disease. My question is: how long should one consume gluten before the biopsy?
I have been gluten free for about 3 years.

Three years ago, my blood tests were negative, however I subsequently had a
biopsy which indicated "mild" celiac disease. In other words, not much damage
was apparent.

Is there a consensus as to how long one must consume gluten prior to a biopsy
to confirm a diagnosis? My current doctor (I'm in a new state) at first said
to consume gluten foods for about two months, but now he said one month is
long enough.

Thanks much..... Roselyn
