Dear Listmates, I want to caution recovering celiacs like me that I had a
bloating reaction to Best Foods mayo; I've been having problems with fat
intake although I only used a tbsp. of mayo. I called the company and the
spokesperson said that the company makes every effort or attempt to ensure
that their "natural flavors" from other suppliers do not contain common
allergens. I'm not a lawyer but I know that effort or attempt does not
constitute absolute assurance. And technically, gluten to a celiac is not
an allergen but a toxic protein. As for their vinegar, she said it was
distilled but couldn't assure me that it was actually derived from corn.
She said that if the vinegar was from wheat, it would say in "parentheses"
next to the word vinegar. If you have anymore questions, you can contact
Best Foods at 1-800-338-8831. Laura
