After reading the summary on GF eating in Italy, I have a question
for all of you who have been there. We would like to take a family
trip to Italy, but our daughter has many dietary restrictions in
addition to the GF diet. She can't eat dairy products, tomatoes (or
tomato sauce), garlic, onion, pepper and is on a very restricted carb
diet (because of impaired glucose tolerance) so she can't eat any of
the gf pasta or pizza that people talked about. With all of these
restrictions, do you think it will be possible to get meals for her
in restaurants there? I know they have great fresh produce and fish
there, but will they cook plain "naked" food (no garlic, no spices)?
We would most likely be going to Rome, Florence and Venice. Thanks
for any advice.
