I appreciate all the info about GIs in Denver, Dr. Narkewicz travels to
Montana 3-4 times a year to see patients in Billings, so we will be seeing
him in April. Thanks for all the replies, I'm sure they will be of help to
others in the archives!

I looked in my info on pediatric GI doctors, and Narkewicz was one of the
Dr.'s names that had been given to me. He is listed in the same building as
Ed Hoffenberg, M.D. and I cut his name out of a magazine that listed the TOP
doctors in Denver. This Hoffenberg is supposed to be very familiar with
celiac disease, so I imagine that Narkewicz is very good as well. If you
don't go with Narkewicz, I would recommend Dr. Theodore Stathos. I took my
daughter to him, and he is ABSOLUTELY wonderful, and wonderful with kids,
and very knowledgeable about celiac.

I don't know that one, but my daughter goes to Dr Yazdi in Denver who is a
Ped GI. He is very knowledgeable about celiac. If the one you are referred
to is with the Rocky Mountain Ped GI, then they are in the same office. I
think they travel to Grand Junction which would be a little closer for you,
I think.

I haven't heard of Dr. Narkewicz, but you might consider going to Dr. Edward
Hoffenberg. He is very thorough.

My daughter (now 8 years old) saw Dr. Ed Hoffenberg at Children's Hospital
in Denver. He performed the biopsy to confirm Celiac Disease (spring of
2002), and then we had a follow-up visit a year later with him. He is a
Pediatric GI doctor. He is very good, does work with the Celiac Disease
Autoimmunity Research (CEDAR) group of the Univ. of Colo. School of
Medicine. Dr. Hoffenberg is pretty well known, gives presentations at
different Celiac group conferences, etc.

I don't know about a peds specialist but Dr. Leslie Stark diagnosed me a few
years ago and is very knowledgable - about CD especially. She has since
changed offices so I don't have her number but heard from someone that she
is practicing with another Doc in town who is a CD (and related disorders)
specialist.
