In response to a post last week concerning Natural Feast pie crusts I
received the following info:

"Gillian's Foods has come out with a great pie crust, apple pie, and pumpkin
pie for the holidays and for the year. The shell will hit the market this
week and they are great
for quiche, etc., the pies will follow. Check whole foods for the shells. As
for natural feast you are right they are out of business, and they were too
top heavy."

I contacted Gillian Foods to verify that they are in fact beginning to sell
pie crust (they aren't listed on their web site, so I wondered....) I just
got a call from them - they are beginning to sell pie crusts. If you live
in the Boston area - you can get the pie crust at their store:

She said that pie crusts have just been picked up by one of their
distributors. So, you can get the pie crust at some of the locations that
currently sell other Gillian's Food products. The only distributor they
have now for the pie crust is 'Garden Spot Distributors.' She said to ask
your local health food store to order their pie crusts through that firm.

After the Jan 1 2004, a larger distributor will also carry their pie crusts
(and presumably they will be available from a wider range of retail
outlets). That distributor is 'United Natural Foods.'
