I was struck by a recent post that used of the term "legal" to characterize a
product as gluten free. I certainly do not mean any offense (nor am I
humorless), but am a little concerned that use of such a term may perpetuate a
misconception about Celiacs. After all, wheat is still a "legal" food and
there is no law against a celiac eating gluten. It's just not a very good
idea (understatement). I guess my concern goes more to how one perceives the
diet and how one goes through life with this diet.

I certainly don't want to open the "Awful Diet" thread up again. Just a
casual thought on how we view the dietary restrictions a celiac must live
under.

BTW - don't look for a summary of responses - I'm not sure it is worth it to
you all. Just a thought for Friday morning.
