Hi everyone:

I received some email from people who were interested in what kind of
gluten-free dog food I had seen, in response to a post a few weeks ago.
Here's some info, in case anyone else is interested. (I don't have any
financial interest in any of these companies.)

The biscuits I had seen (and mentioned in the post) were wheat free (and
labeled as such), but
contained barley and rye. But I *did* find all kinds of dry dog food
that did seem to be gluten free, and a few doggy treats. Here's a list,
with (mostly) phone numbers.

Evolve dog food (I think made by Triumph): 1-800-331-5144

Abacus dog food: 1-800-340-2878

California Natural dog food: 1-800-532-7261

Nutro's: 1-800-833-5330
They make several "sub-brands" such as Natural Choice, Puppy Formula,
etc. I looked at the Natural Choice, which didn't have wheat, but did
have oatmeal. However, they have dog treats that seemed to be
gluten-free. These were "lamb and rice patties" and "lamb and rice
sticks" as well as "chicken and rice patties/sticks." (I don't have
dogs, but I have two cats who *love* Nutro's. They have some flavors I
think I could easily serve to (human) guests, like "shrimp and salmon
chowder.")

The wheat-free biscuits I saw were Bark Bars, made by American Health
Kennels, 4351 North East 11th Avenue, Pompano Beach, FL 33064. Tel:
954-781-0730. They might have other completely gluten-free products.
(Their product was the only one I saw that was actually labeled "wheat
free.")

I hope this helps!

Karen
