My question to the list was "What company has a terrific bread mix that doesn't have bean flour in it, that bakes like a dream, tastes delicious, cuts like wheat bread, and keeps well in the refrigerator?" One of the answers included an additional descriptive request, for my question, and that was to add "and does not fall apart" with which I completely agree.

Here is the summary:

1) Manna from Anna. Emailer was helpful about this product, but I subsequently learned from following up on the web site that it has bean flours in it. But for those of you who are interested, the site is www.glutenevolution.com

2) Montina - summary of several answers!!
Have to stop here and explain Montina. It is Indian rice grass also named perennial bunch grass.

A flour mixture is available in one pound and five pound bags at www.montina.com where hot dog pans and hamburger pans are also for sale and they have delectable recipes on the site including muffins. The ingredients of their flour mix include white rice flour, tapioca flour, and montina pure. "Montina bread is the closest thing to wheat bread you can find gluten free, soft, moist, with a rich golden color."
www.ener-g.com Energy Foods has a Montina bread by the loaf or the two slice in vacuum packs. It is called "Seattle Brown Bread." www.glutenfreemall.com has montina flour mix.
www.123glutenfree.com has Aaron's Favorite Rolls dinner roll mix with montina, rice flour, tapioca flour, cornstarch, sugar, salt and GF yeast packet. It won't make a loaf, but will make long baguette, soft in center and crusty on the outside.

3) www.glutenfreepantry.com French bread mix. This emailer did not like bean flour either except it was excellent for fried chicken.

4) www.glutenfreepantry.com White sandwich bread mix.

5) www.nuworldfoods.com Amaranth flour and recipes for bread using amaranth flour.

6) Bob's Red Mill bread mix

7) Marlene's mixes

8) Kinnickinnick bread mixes

9) www.glutenfreeforme.com French bread mix. Ingredients are rice flour, potato starch, crystallized honey, guar gum, salt and GF yeast packet.

Thanks to all of you for kindly taking the time to send suggestions and advice or just to be enthusiastic about the question. Jackie in Maryland

If there are more answers that are significant I will post a second summary.
