I was diagnosed with CD about 2 or 3 years ago, and I have always thought
my niece is cd too, but I haven't been able to convince my sister to check
it out. She mentioned it to one pediatrician, who "poo-poo"ed her off,
saying it was too rare. My niece is tiny, with a freakishly large pot-
belly. She has never had an appetite, and is severely underdeveloped
physically. Recently, my sister has been putting my niece through all sorts
of physical therapy, which is not helping. The neurologists have been
frightening my sister with more needed tests that are terribly painful for
myopathy/hypotonia.

I have been trying to cross-reference these things on some of the CD and
health websites, but I am coming up short. I am hoping that someone on the
list will be able to let me know if these things are common symptoms of CD,
and give me advice on how to talk to my sister about it. The last time I
tried to bring it up to her, we ended up in a fight, and didn't see one
another for almost a year (she's a horribly defensive person, and claimed I
was "just trying to freak her out"). Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much in advance!
