Howdy!

I was a suspected celiac for many months befores finally getting my official
diagnosis. I am (was) also a passive observer of this list, but I now have
much information to share. Here we go:

Diagnosis: Janet helped me find a great Dr. in Houston. We scheduled a
biopsy which came back positive, blood work which came back negative, and a
stool test which was also negative. Also negative for parasites. The
biopsy was extremely easy, I had absolutely nothing to worry about. I opted
for the anesthesia, more for nerves I think, but could easily have done it
without the drugs and saved a few $$'s. Now I am on Aciphex (for reflux-30
days) and Pentasa (for intestinal inflammation-12 weeks). We decided to try
the drug therapy instead of the food trials/tests because 1)I already had a
clue about what the problem was, and 2)I didn't want to do the trials, I
would never make it through. So far all is going well and I am feeling much
better.

Bread machines: I received a bread machine for Christmas and finally decided
to break it out of the box. I have a Welbilt ABMY2K1, and it is fabulous!
Small and lightweight, it makes 1, 1.5, or 2lb loaves, plus has a ton of
features and settings. Also, IT CAME WITH GLUTEN FREE BAKING INSTRUCTIONS
IN THE MANUAL!! I followed the directions and soon had a wonderful loaf of
hot bread! I am saved! I highly recommend this machine.

Now on to the questions: My GI health and overall wellness seems to be
improving rapidly, with a few small kinks. I did not previously think I had
DH, but may be developing a case now. I began using J&J's baby oil
regularly after showers, and have noticed a slight red rash (think
razor-burn, light red pin pricks). Also, the itching is driving me crazy!!
Mostly on my elbows, somewhat on my legs. I did a quick check of the
archives and found that some had problems with mineral oil. Is this common,
something I should watch out for in personal products? I also used Herbal
Essences with no problems, and now have noticed some breakouts on my scalp,
my hairline behind my ears, and down my neck. It's embarassing since I MUST
wear my hair up for work. I plan on making an appointment with a
dermatologist (also a nutritionist) soon, but was looking for suggestions.
I enjoyed using baby oil because I could add some to my bath water and have
a nice soak, and was wondering if anyone could recommend a similar product?
Even a good body lotion would be great. Death by scratching is not
acceptable. :)

Sorry this is so long, and thanks in advance for all your help. I will post
summaries, assuming I can figure out how.

Hi Mom!!
