This is an online list of medicines that are acceptable to use for
Passover and include a portion of Rabbi Bess's 1999 list.

In using this list you must understand the meaning of the word chometz,
which is basically anything made from wheat, spelt, barley, oat or rye.
This includes grain vinegars, grain alcohols, fillers in medicines such
as modified food starch, etc. If a medicine is chometz free then it will
not contain any gluten. It can contain starches such as corn, potato,
etc.

This list also has sections that indicate some medicines that DO contain
chometz. It has a comprehensive list of which MELALEUCA, SHAKLEE,
SUNRIDER products contain chometz/do not contain chometz. After the
medicines approved for Passover you will also find a list of personal
care items that do not have chometz (ie lipsticks, mouthwashes,
toothpaste, etc.)

This list is NOT all conclusive, there are alot of medicines that do not
contain chometz but are not on the list. This list is updated annually
for use during Passover and ingredients can change year to year so use
this list now but I would not rely on it later in the year. I understand
that other lists are updated in the fall so this should help us with
having lists that are relatively current.
