I was sad to hear that Joe Calleja from the rock-rap band "Kid Rock"
died in his sleep last night.  What is most disturbing is the bizarre
stories I am now reading about the disease that "killed him"...Celiac
Disease.

I just read part of an article that said he had a "digestive disorder
that required him to take 60 pills a day and be monitored by a machine
at night". Apparently, he also had to be tube fed during the day and
undergo dialysis, too.  This will mean a lot of publicity for us
Celiacs...I just hope it's the right kind.  I am predicting that no one
will truly understand this disease by the time all of this publicity
gets out.

If you log on to www.mtv.com there is an interesting article about his
battle with Celiac.  Since he was only 3-feet-9-inches...I'm guessing he
suffered a long time before being diagnosed and much damage was already
done.
