I have very fond memories of eating white clam pizza at Sally's Apizza in
New Haven, Connecticut, from back before I needed to eat gluten-free. For
those of you familiar with those delightful, thin crust, garlicy pizzas
(I've heard Pepe's down the street from Sally's is also pretty outstanding),
have you A) found any place willing to make these gluten-free, or B) found a
recipe which approximates those wonderful pizzas?

I just watched an episode of East Meets West on TV, and Ming Tsai made an
Asian fusion black clam pizza inspired by Sally's and Pepe's white clam
pizzas, and I've been hit with a tremendous craving. I've found a few
recipes for white clam pizza on the internet, but it's been so long since I
could eat Sally's I don't remember exactly what was in it other than their
lovely crust and the garlic. Have any of you had or made a gluten-free
version you were happy with?

I know that most people on this list aren't from the East Coast of the
United States, but neither am I, and I still think of this as comfort food
from the times I've visited New Haven. If people share recipes with me, I
will most happily pass them along to introduce others to these wonderful
tastes!

Thank you,

Kirsten
