Dear celiac friends, Please read this entire post and the website below
before responding.

A lot of celiac folks report that once they have a gluten reaction, it seems
to last forever.  I've always assumed it has something to do with dysbiosis,
but apparently it's more than that.  I found a really good website that may
explain why and what can be done to break the cycle.  The reason is IBS
(Irritable Bowel Syndrome).  The solution is a few simple diet changes. (And
I do mean SIMPLE!)  The author offers some excellent solid advise that may
help those with both types of IBS -diarrhea & constipation.

The author does a wonderful job explaining the difference between soluble &
insoluble fibers & how each effects our GI function.  She also offers
helpful advise for people with celiac disease and IBS.  It's an excellent
website.  She offers a few products for sale, but the most valuable offering
is her personal experience & knowledge of bowel management for people with
IBS.

If you know me, you also know that I rarely recommend anything unless I've
had personal experience with it.  Well that applies here as well.  I have
IBS the constipation type -- SEVERE constipation type.  I've applied the
advise I learned on this website & I've experienced some significant
improvements in my bowel comfort level.  All I did was add at least one of
the foods she recommends to each of my three meals a day and snacks.  Voila!
  No more cramps & a lot less gas.  The solution was so simple, I'm
wondering why I never figured it out before!

I don't want to raise false hopes that these simple food additions are the
cure all for constipation.
And, I'm NOT soliciting anyone's favorite constipation treatment.  Most
people don't have a clue what severe constipation really is & that simple
quick fixes like popcorn & orange juice, magnesium or Miralax, etc. don't
even come close to helping a person with severe costipation and oft times
these only make things worse for us.  So, please, please save those
suggestions for another topic.  Besides, constipation remedies have been
addressed thoroughly in previous posts (search "Ultimate constipation cures"
in the archives.)

However, if any of you have severe, chronic constipation as I do, I will be
happy to share with you what helps me.  I've come a long way in finding
treatments for this chronic problem.  Perhaps something I've learned may
help someone else.  We can only hope.  I ask again that you read the website
before responding.
